Take me riding on the moonlight with you.
Take me gliding across the deep blue sky
with its vastness and wonders true.
Take me across the pure, warm stars
to a light of our reckoning,
a sleep that is beckoning to us
it was always there, soberly waiting.
Why must my heart ache so,
why must it ache so for a time long past?
A time I wish to redo
in all my waking moments
and sometimes in my slumber too.
So I say, take me riding on the moonlight,
far away, with you,
to be who I wish to be
to not be who I am
to somehow see these lives through.
